Founded June 4th 2011, NCR is the second largest Priory in Canada by membership with approximately 100 members.
The NCR Priory hosted investitures in 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016 and has contributed or leveraged nearly $300K through charitable efforts in support of the Order’s mission – with a focus on assisting members of the Canadian Armed Forces’ suffering from PTSD as a result of their service.
Our current fundraising efforts are in support of Veterans Emergency Transition Services Canada (VETS Canada). VETS Canada fills a critical gap and has evolved from primarily assisting homeless veterans to also providing support to veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families facing difficulties of any kind. From an inability to afford groceries, or a power bill, to support for those experiencing an emotional or mental-health crisis. VETS Canada provides much needed support to those in need from coast-to-coast.
Past recipients of the NCR Priory’s good works have included:
- L'Hôpital des anciens combattants Perley-Rideau
- Le Royal Ottawa
- Camp d'entraînement international des cadets de Connaught (équipe de tir de Bisley)
- Corps de cadets 2332 Major Holland VC
- The Warhorse Project
- Courageous Companions
The NCR Priory was the lead for establishing The Order of St. George Cadet Medal of Merit for Canadian Cadets & Junior Canadian Rangers; and has invested more than 50 Field Knights and Field Dames into the Order since 2012.
