Congratulations and welcome to our 27 newest Knights and Dames.
The COVID-19 pandemic restricted in-person investitures for two years. When it was determined to be medically safe, the Order of St. George, through its Cascadia Priory conducted its first ever west coast investiture on April 23, 2022, in New Westminster, British Columbia. The investiture ceremony was held at Holy Trinity Cathedral.
The ceremony followed the established Order of St. George investiture protocols, and was supported by the Cathedral Organist, a Metis soloist who sang Leonard Cohen’s song “Hallelujah”, the Royal Westminster Regimental (RWR) Band and the Seaforth Highlander Regimental Band. The ceremony concluded with a stirring bag pipe rendition of “Highland Cathedral” performed by the regimental bands and supported by the Cathedral Organist.
The investiture ceremony was celebrated with a Gala Dinner that evening at the Sheraton Guilford. The two regimental bands provided entertainment with the Seaforth Highlander Regimental Band performing “Black Bear”, click here to view a video of the performance. The guest of honour was the Honourable Kerry Lynne Findlay, Conservative Shadow Cabinet Minister for National Defence.
