Chevalier Peter Stoffer organized subject dinner at National Historic Site Pier 21 to commemorate the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945 (dinner was delayed two years due to COVID). Over 400 attended including the LGov of NS, federal and local politicians, senior naval officers, veterans and several members of the Order. Most importantly, a few Dutch survivors of the occupation and a couple of Canadian liberators were present and delivered heartfelt thanks. Chevalier Stoffer is to be commended for his efforts in bringing this event together and honouring those who served.
