Cascadia Priory participates in and supports No Stone Left Alone, with their annual National event Remembrance Week event. The group is a registered charity and runs as many events as they can get organized across Canada during this time. The event consists of a brief ceremony followed by volunteer school children, members of the general public and special guests who line up in front of the head stone of a veteran to lay a Poppy. It is a very powerful event that moves a lot of people to tears. This year the Surrey grave yard that has been chosen and approved is the final resting place of two of our local soldiers (PPCLI) that fell during the Afghanistan conflict. We are hoping, therefore, to have a special Poppy service with PPCLI Veterans participating. This service will also give the school children a chance to see members of the regiment paying respect to their own. Contact us for details.
