Charlie Kernegahn of Citadel Canine, Chevalier Allan Plett,Prior of Cascadia Priory Order of St George, Chevalier Barry Drews Deputy Prior Cascadia Priory, Brian Archer President Citadel Canine Society, Chevalier Bruce Docherty, Chevalier Tony Moore President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 229.Cascadia Priory of the Order of St George recently presented Citadel Canine Society with a cheque for $10,000 raised in their 2022 annual fundraising campaign for this charity.

The presentation took place at the Veterans Village in Surrey British Columbia.

Citadel Canine Society is a CRA registered charity that trains and delivers PTSD – OSI medical service dogs to new Military Veterans, and First Responders (police, fire, ambulance, nursing, and 9-1-1 personal). They provide these wonderful dogs at no charge to the recipients. Citadel Canine is the only registered charitable training school within Canada that exclusively specializes in PTSD service dog production.  ​

The Legion Veterans Village (LVV) project is Canada’s first-of-its-kind, integrated centre of excellence for veterans & first responders focusing on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and mental health as well as mixed medical and rehabilitative services. Led by the BC/Yukon Command of the Royal Canadian Legion, together with Whalley Legion Branch 229 and Lark Group in Surrey B.C., this unique $312-million, two-phase, multi-purpose project is envisioned to be the first of many such projects across Canada.
